Intigam Aliyev Awarded New International Award
A well-known lawyer and human rights activist and former political prisoner, Intigam Aliyev won another international award. This was on his page on Facebook written by his son, social activist Najmin Kamil.
We are talking about the award of the PILnet organization, which is called Publico and is awarded for the protection of public interests.
The award ceremony took place in the Netherlands yesterday at the event European Pro Bono Forum with the participation of more than 300 lawyers, judges, NGO leaders and human rights organizations.
Because of the ban on leaving the country for Intigam Aliyev, the ceremony was attended by his son.
* PILnet is a network of organizations working in the sphere of protection of public interests. The award was established recently and its first winner is Intigam Aliyev.
Intigam Aliyev was released on parole, with five years of probation. He is under control and forbidden to change residence without warning. -16D04-
