Lawyers are surprised with the appeal on behalf of a blogger (UPDATED)
Baku / 11.01.19 / Turan: Lawyer Shahla Humbatova expressed surprise at the content of the appeal released on behalf of the blogger Mehman Huseynov.
"On January 10, I met with Mehman in the Baku pre-trial detention center-1, but we did not discuss the appeal published today by the "Report" agency," she told Turan.
According to her, Huseynov told her quite the opposite. "He said that he would not take food, and would only drink milk and juice until March 2 - until the end of the arrest period," said the lawyer.
After this meeting, no one went to the blogger. "Therefore, it"s a mystery to me who Mehman Huseynov could send this letter," the lawyer said. -05С-

The lawyer is not informed about the appeal of Mehman Huseynov
Baku/11.01.19/Turan: On Friday evening, the Report agency published an appeal by the convicted blogger Mehman Huseynov to the media.
The statement reads that the information in social networks about his critical health and his hospitalization was not true.
Further, the blogger says that he is not responsible for the actions of his brother Emin and other "people who love him" and "people who do not love him".
"I want to inform you that I am recovering from a hunger strike and expect that the investigation of the criminal case against me will be fair," says the published material.
Report Agency does not explain why only this Agency received this report, if it is directed to all media?
Blogger's lawyer Fuad Aagev is not informed about such an appeal. It was not possible to learn the opinion of another lawyer, Shakhla Humbatova.
According to lawyers, the statements of the prisoner must be transmitted through lawyers. If this happens to bypass the defenders, it gives reason to doubt the accuracy of the appeal and the interest of the Prison Service.
With high probability we can assume that the authorities are concerned about the wide resonance around the case of Mehman Huseynov and today's appeal of the blogger may be a signal that the criminal case against him will be released on the brakes. -02B-
