The construction of a socio-economic infrastructure in the country, the development of insurance in the agrarian sector, and the problems of paying for education are the leading topics of today's media.
The newspaper Azerbaijan writes about the formation of the socio-economic infrastructure of the country. In 2019, at least 1,000 km of roads should be built, and 15 thousand km of roads have already been built. The created water infrastructure provided irrigation of 100 thousand hectares of lands. 38 cities of the country are provided with a drinking water system, and by the end of the year 5 more cities will be provided. In 12 cities, work in this direction continues and will be completed until 2030.
The Moderator.az website writes about the draft law "On Agrarian Insurance", analyzing it with the MP Ali Masimli. Almost 37% of the population work in the agricultural sector, and the land feeds more than 800 thousand farms. The above-mentioned bill was prepared on the basis of the Spanish model, and the Turkish practice was also taken as a basis. For a successful application of this model, a simple and clear insurance mechanism is needed. It is necessary to completely eliminate the distrust between the insurer and the insured. In Azerbaijan, the biggest problem is that 80-85% of the collected funds go to the insurer and only 10-15% to the insured. Ali Masimli believes the creation of a working insurance mechanism will increase investment in this area.
The website Yenisabah.az writes about tuition fees, discussing this with expert Gadir Ibrahimli. The latter said that 85% of families cannot provide their children paid education. In Azerbaijan, over 225 thousand people study in higher and secondary educational institutions, of which 70% or 158 thousand people receive paid education. Every year, hundreds of students are expelled from universities, because they cannot pay their tuition.
