Baku / 02.06.17 / Turan: There are still restrictions on the conversations on the messengers WatsApp, Facebook, Skype, Viber, etc., introduced three weeks ago.
The Ministry of Communications does not give explanations or comments, said Osman Gunduz, the head of the Azerbaijan Internet Forum, in an interview with Turan. According to unofficial information, these measures were introduced for security reasons during the Islamic Games. However, after the games the situation has not changed.
It is not excluded that the messengers will definitively block or the special services of Azerbaijan will offer to install servers of messengers in the country, the expert believes.
He shares the opinion that the blocking messengers can negatively affect the influx of tourists to Azerbaijan, under very high tariffs for international telephone calls. He is not sure that blocking messengers will lead to an increase in the incomes of mobile operators and the state. For the reason that the tariffs for telephone conversations are quite high. In this regard, he expressed the hope that the government will solve this problem. -06D-

In 2017, the Sumgayit City Court ruled to evict the Aliyev family—refugees from Gubadli (Akper, Sarvinaz, Ramil, and two other family members)—from an illegally occupied apartment in the 12th microdistrict, Building 7A, Apartment 35. The court ordered the property be returned to its rightful owner, Samaya Aliyeva. However, the Ministry of Justice intervened, citing a presidential decree from July 1, 2004, which approved a state program for improving the living and working conditions of refugees. Under this directive, refugees without alternative housing cannot be evicted until they are provided with a replacement residence by the Executive Authority.
