The State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan made public information about the dynamics of population growth in 2006 - 2013.
During this period, married women aged 15-29 gave birth to 1,552,875 children. At the same time, 1,107,814 children were born to women in marriage. 186,175 children were born by women not legally married. Of these, 102,849 were born in villages and 84,226 in cities.
Increasing fertility rates were observed in 2006-2011 and peaked in 2011, when 176,072 children were born.
In 2012 and 2013 were born, respectively, 174,469 and 172,671 children.
The reasons for the fall in fertility are not explained. It is not clear whether this is due to abortion or rise in child mortality. -05D-
