Participants in riots in Yevlakh detained
Baku/21.05.20/Turan: A lawsuit was filed on the fact of an attack on police officers in the city of Yevlakh (295 km. to the west of Baku). As part of the case, 21 rioters were detained.
According to local sources, residents of the “Gypsy Quarter” on May 18-19 threw stones at the police, demanding compliance with quarantine standards.
According to sources in the prosecutor’s office, a lawsuit was filed under the Article 21 (hooliganism) and 315 (resistance or use of force to a government official). So far, one participant in the riots has been arrested.
Investigation of the case will be decided on the remaining 20 detainees. -02D-

In 2017, the Sumgayit City Court ruled to evict the Aliyev family—refugees from Gubadli (Akper, Sarvinaz, Ramil, and two other family members)—from an illegally occupied apartment in the 12th microdistrict, Building 7A, Apartment 35. The court ordered the property be returned to its rightful owner, Samaya Aliyeva. However, the Ministry of Justice intervened, citing a presidential decree from July 1, 2004, which approved a state program for improving the living and working conditions of refugees. Under this directive, refugees without alternative housing cannot be evicted until they are provided with a replacement residence by the Executive Authority.
