Prison Administration Prevents Transfer of European Court Documents to Ilgar Mammadov
Baku / 29.12.17 / Turan: The lawyer Fuad Agayev met with the REAL movement leader Ilgar Mammadov in Prison No. 2 on December 29. The purpose of the visit was to give Mammadov letters from the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights.
"But they did not allow the transfer of these letters to Ilgar Mammadov. I asked about the reasons for the ban. They explained this by saying that the letters were in English and should be translated into Azerbaijani. I was told that I should continue to bring documents only in the Azerbaijani language. From their words it follows that I must apply to the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights to prepare documents in the Azerbaijani language," Agayev said.
