Representatives of the Ombudsman continue meetings with political prisoners
Members of the National Preventive Group (NPG) on the prevention of torture under the Ombudsman visited Prisons NN 12, 13 and 14.
In Prison N 12, they had a meeting with the leader of the Islamic Party, Movsum Samedov and investigated the conditions of his detention, according to the press service of the Ombudsman.
In Prison N 13 they held a meeting with the vice-president of the party Musavat, Tofig Yagublu, who is in quarantine. Yagublu did not express dissatisfaction with the conditions of his detention and treatment.
In Prison N 14, they held a meeting with the journalist Sardar Alibeili, who did not complain about the conditions of his detention and treatment either.
In connection with the questions raised at these meetings, the Ombudsman appealed to the relevant authorities, the report said.
Earlier this week, representatives of the Ombudsman also visited the human rights defenders Leyla Yunus, Intigam Aliyev, Rasul Jafarov, Anar Mammadli, and Bashir Suleymanli. -06D--
