Trial in the case of the death of Rasim Aliyev listened to the experts

Today the  Baku  Serious  Crimes Court chaired by Eldar Ismayilov continued hearing in the case of the death of the journalist Rasim Aliyev. The experts Alim Huseynov and Mammadov Ziyafeddin were heard to. The lawyer of the injured party Fariz Namazly petitioned to adduce the last video interview of the journalist in the hospital.

Expert Ziyafeddin Mammadov gave  a concluision on  the medical documents submitted hijm by the investogation. The expert concluded that the examination , treatment,  and surgery were  conducted in accordance with the instructions of the health system.

Another expert Alim Guseynov gave an opinion on the results of the examination of the body  after the journalist's death.  The lawyer of one of the accused, Rasul Yusifbayli, noted that due to the conclusion  by the expert Mammadov the doctors guilty  of the death of journalist  remained at large.

Another lawyer Shamsaddin Guliyev noted that  there  are not  medical documents in the case file  on which the Mammadov  relied. The mother of the deceased journalist said that instead of  experts the court should have to call doctors who treated her son.

Another lawyer Fakhraddin Safarov requested the court to summon the investigator, who took testimony from a journalist in the hospital, as well as the investigator who conducted the case. He also asked for clarification why the investigator had interrogated at  two o’clock at night, and how he was able to take testimonies from five people. Materials of each interrogation  totaoed five pages.  The  request was rejected.

Rasim Aliyev was beaten by a group of 5-6 athletes on  8 August, 2015. The next day he died in hospital from internal bleeding. People who  beat him were arrested. The reason for the attack was the criticism  by  the journalist  in the Facebook  the actions of the  footballer  Javid Huseynov.  People who attacked the journalist took revenge for  the criticism of his friends and relatives. The main culprit, Javid Huseynov, is charged with failure to report planned crime, although the injured party and  Rasim Aliyev’sfriends believe that Javid Huseynov himself  organized the crime. -16D-
