Baku / 05/17/19 / Turan: The repair work on the former villa that belonged to the famous patron and industrialist of the 19-20 centuries, Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev, started in the Mardakan settlement near Baku on these days.
The villa was built in the 19th century and was used by Tagiyev as a summer residence and dacha. Under Soviet rule, the villa was nationalized and used in different years as a military hospital and a hospital for pulmonary patients. In the past 20 years, the villa was abandoned and fell into disrepair. The calls of the public to restore the villa for a long time remained unheard. Who took up the restoration of the villa is not reported. It was not possible to get information from government agencies.
Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev was one of the most prominent oilfield owners and philanthropists of Azerbaijan. The 19-20 centuries are known for his support of culture, art and education. A fire has erupted at the Experimental and Testing Production of the Scientific Research Institute of SOCAR (the state oil company) in the Surakhani district of Baku, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
