Political Song Contest Launched
Through the advocacy campaign "Art for Democracy", a song contest has been organized. Under the theme of “Music for Democracy”, the purpose of the contest is to celebrate democracy, human rights and the rule of law.
Any composer and performer under the age of 40 can enter the competition. Formal musical education is not required. The competition is for both Azerbaijani citizens and foreigners, but songs must be submitted in Azerbaijani.
New songs in any genre will be accepted. Songs can be submitted individually or in groups.
Participants must provide information about themselves (maximum 1 page) and a photo.
Songs can be presented in CD, mp3 or DVD, USB card format, or any other electronic medium.
The works will not be returned, but submitting parties retain the copyright.
Songs can be focused on themes of free elections, democracy, respect for human rights, respect for freedom of speech, expression, assembly, the role of youth in democracy and the right to a fair trial.
Personification of any politician, appeals against the Constitution and laws, violence and humiliation of honor and dignity will not be accepted. Deadline for submission of papers is on 31 March 2013.
Within 2 weeks, the jury will choose three winners of the contest.
If the number of submissions is greater than anticipated, the evaluation process could take 1 month.
Awards will be presented in May. For 1st place, there will be an award of 1,000 manat, for 2nd place - 900 manat, and for 3rd - 800 manat.

This exhibition explores various aspects of truth and identity through the contemporary lens. Curated by Zahra Mammadova, the exhibition focuses on how art influences individuals.

People seek to learn about past eras by conducting research on the internet, watching films, or being regular attendees of theatrical performances. Some periods in cultural history have not been deeply studied, and finding precise, detailed information in the Azerbaijani language is nearly impossible. One such period is the Qajar era, which lasted from 1794 to 1985.
