Araz Agalarov creates a tobacco factory in Baku
LLC Crocus ltd will soon start production of tobacco in Baku. To do this, they have rented premises in another cigarette manufacturer in Azerbaijan, European Tobacco Baku, Turan was told at the Ministry of Agriculture.
Now the company continues the development work. The names for cigarette brands are not disclosed. Under the law , the company would manufacture no less than 300 million pieces of filter cigarettes a year.
Crocus ltd is one of the three importers of cigarettes to Azerbaijan. The company was registered in Baku in March 2004 . Its head office is located in the Narimanov district of Baku on Darnagul Highway.
Note that Crocus ltd is a subsidiary of the group of companies Crocus International (Russia), which belongs to the owner of Azeri origin Araz Agalarov. Leyla Aliyeva , the daughter of President Ilham Aliyev, is the wife of Emin Agalarov, the son of Araz Agalarov .
In 2006-2010, the group opened a few companies in Baku. One of the projects of the group in Azerbaijan is the Sea Breeze Residences & Hotel on the shore of the Caspian Sea in Nardaran. The Sea Breeze occupies 46 hectares of land. The infrastructure of the Sea Breeze includes aparthotel (5000 m2) in an area of ??2.6 hectares (32 rooms, apartments of 83-685 m2), 60 cottages for rent (area of ??200-350 m2 ), a private beach of 1.2 km (13 ha), a pier for yachts and motorboats, an indoor sports center (1,000 m2) with an indoor pool (108 m2), a sauna, an outdoor pool ( 270 m2), a tennis court ( 600 m2) , a football field (600 m2), a playground, etc. 08B

Data on Azerbaijan's oil exports for January-October 2024 reveals a significant drop in both volume and value compared to the same period last year, highlighting the challenges facing the oil-dependent economy. The country exported 495,484.05 tons of oil products worth $309.02 million, a decrease of 40.3% in value and 40.7% in volume compared to 2023, when exports totaled 925,225.07 tons worth $572.21 million.
