Azernerji already laid off 250 employees
Azerenerji did not extend contracts with 250 employees, which expired last year.
The company press office reported that in the past years the company has upgraded its plants. It uses up-to-date technology and machinery, which require highly qualified personnel.
The contracts of 250 employees, which were expired, have not been extended, because their qualification does not meet the required standards. The employees will be paid compensation, according to the labor law.
Azerenerji continues hiring the employees, whose qualification meets the requirements of the modern technologies, the company reported.
Sources from Azerenerji told Turan that the company will continue laying off its employees this year. The biggest reduction of staff is expected in Mingechavir city, where Azerenerji has two power stations. The company plans to lay off about 300 people there.—0—

Azerbaijan's financial standing continues to strengthen as the country's foreign currency reserves have surged to $71 billion as of January 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Finance. This figure, which includes reserves held by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), far exceeds the nation's external debt, which stands at a fraction of its reserves, specifically nearly 14 times less. This robust reserve position reflects Azerbaijan's fiscal stability and the government’s strategic economic management.
