During September the Number of Public Sector Employees fell by 1.1%
During September, the number of employees in Azerbaijan decreased by 4 thousand people, or 0.3%. According to the State Committee of Statistics, employment for a month only in enterprises and organizations in the public sector decreased by 1.1%.
As of October 1 this year, the economy of Azerbaijan employed 1,507,400 people. Of these, 883,700 or 58.6% were in the public sector. Compared with the beginning of the year in the public sector for various reasons, 16,500 people were fired from their jobs.
Against this backdrop, the number of employees in the private sector grows: as of October 1, private entrepreneurs paid wages to 623,700 people. This is 13 800 more than at the beginning of 2014. Employment in the economy has grown mainly due to the construction sector and industry. --08D--

According to official statistics from Azerbaijan, bilateral trade in 2023 reached 3.1 billion US dollars. In just the first ten months of 2024, trade volume increased by 17.1% year-on-year, reaching 3.02 billion US dollars, putting the annual trade figure on track to hit a record high.
