Import of soap at customs reduced by 3.3 times
In 2015, Azerbaijan purchased abroad 10.9 thousand tons of toilet soap, etc., by 23% less than in the previous year. According to the State Customs Committee (SCC), in 2015, importers have spent on the purchase of soap $ 9 million 160.300, by 9% less than in 2014.
In 2014 a ton of imported soap was registered at the Azerbaijani customs for $ 710, last year the figure rose to $ 840.25. According to international data, export soap in Azerbaijan is carried out at the price of $ 2201$/t.
Data by the SCC of Azerbaijan seriously differ from international benchmarks. According to UN Comtrade (UN Information database on international trade), Azerbaijan purchased in 2014 in about 30 countries in 15 thousand 126.6 tons of soap (product code 3401) with a total contract value of $ 33.3 million. If the bulk data of the Azerbaijani customs differ from this figure at 961.5 tones (6.4%), the deviation is 3.3 times. Potential losses of the state budget for the customs duties and taxes only on imports of soap make at least $ 12 million.
It is established that the official export of Turkish soap in Azerbaijan in 2014 amounted to 9.8 thousand tons ($19 .724.000.) Azerbaijani customs recorded 8790 tons ($ 4 million. 189.000) of this product.
Czech claims on exports to Azerbaijan of 974.3 tons of soap ($ 2 million 972.000), while the Azerbaijani customs 'noticed' only 5.9 tons of the Czech soap.
From Russia to Azerbaijan were sent 3 112.6 tones of soap ($ 4.8 million). The Azerbaijani customs declared in 2014 the import of 952 tons of Russian soap ($ 2.9 million.)
A situation with Ukraine is a little different. The country exported in 2014 in Azerbaijan 727 tons of soap a total cost of $ 2 million 183.000. During this period through the Azerbaijan Customs passed 1549.1 tones of soap of Ukrainian production worth $ 3 million 391.4 thousand.
According to statistics, in 2015, 60-gram piece of soap in Azerbaijan has risen from 0.56 to 64 manats. In January of this year retail price for soap was worth not less than AZN 0.70 per share.
According to official data, the country's need for soap 96% satisfied at the expense of imports. 523 tones were produced in 2014, by 2 times less than in 2010. Capacities are available in the cities of Sumgayit, Shirvan, etc. 08B
