In Azerbaijan, only 14 private companies employ more than 2000 employees

In Azerbaijan, there are 42 private companies, which employ over 1000 people. The lead is held by Euro-Asian Development Corporation Evrascon, where labor contracts are executed with 5423 people, although 118 people have lost their jobs in the past three months.

According to the Ministry of Taxes, in the country operate 738 private companies with 100 or more workers.

The airline Silk Way Airlines has 4801 workers. In March-May, the airline has given jobs to over 300 people. In total, Silk Way Group (Silk Way Helicopter Services, Bank Silk Way, Silk Way Business Aviation, and Duty Free.Az) employs at least 5,700 people.

Earlier this year, the group of companies Azenco (including LLC Sumgait Technologies Park - 3781 people) experienced financial problems. This is reflected in the state of its employees: in the three months 800 people were laid off and today the group Azenco has 3,400 workers.

BP Exploration (Caspian Sea) Limited has outlined influx of labor. In March 3,309 people worked here and during this period 30 people were given jobs.

In Industrial Construction Investment Corporation Accord in connection with the completion of several projects the contracts with about 150 employees were terminated and the number of employees was reduced to 3151 people. LLC Gazakh Cement Zavodu, which also belongs to the corporation, employs over 300 people.

The top ten also includes employers LLC Azpetrol Ltd (3,046 persons, 69 +) , including LLC Trust-SS (2,495 people), the Azerbaijani- Turkish JV AzFen (2,457) and Boss Shelf (2,434).

The increasing number of employees in the furniture LLC Embawood (2,028 employees, 25+) and the trade company Ltd. Veyseloglu (2,051, 151+) speaks of the development of their business.

But in such well-known companies in the country, as SOCAR Petroleum Company Ltd. and Baku Steel Company, reduction in staff is observed. In March SOCAR Petroleum had 1,421 working people and Baku Steel Company had 1,861, and by the end of May their number decreased to 1,395 and 1,481 people.

The road construction company AzVirt shows stable activity, which is reflected on the number of its employees – 1,547 people.

Staff of the mobile operators in Azerbaijan (LLC Azercell Telecom, Bakcell and Azerfon) rose in March- May of this year by 7.2 % and reached 2,412 people.
