Despite the prohibition of importation of the old Lada, in Azerbaijan the most popular are still VAZ cars.
As noted in the data of the Bureau of Compulsory Insurance (BCI), in the past year within the framework of compulsory insurance of civil liability of owners of vehicles (CTP) there were signed 245,619 contracts with the owners of vehicles produced in the popular Volga factory.
In second place (161 360) are policies of the owners of Mercedes Benz, while the third place with a large backlog (47,260) is Hyundai. Also popular are Toyota (36,154), Opel - 35,483, Ford - 29,697, Nissan - 24491, KIA - 21938, Mitsubishi - 20 260 and Volkswagen - 18 536. The remaining 290,666 cars are "scattered" in other brands.
According to the Bureau, in 2014, as a whole within the CTP, there were signed 931,464 contracts. Of these, 60,088 are related to car insurance, 9,974 - trucks and 1,478 - buses. The share of other vehicles and trailers is negligible.
The Bureau of Compulsory Insurance was established in the framework of the implementation of the law "On compulsory types of insurance." It consists of 15 insurers, 11 of which have the right to provide services under the CTP. --17D-
