In December 2015, producer prices of food products grew in relation to November by 0.1%, the State Statistics Committee, although on 21 December the manat depreciated by about 48%.
According to the SSC, in December, the companies for the production of cigarettes increased prices by only 0.2%. However, this may not reflect the reality, since immediately after the loss of the position of the manat, retail prices jumped by about 50%.
Turan appealed to the department of price statistics of SSC, where they said that the data on changes in prices are given by producers themselves and, measuring their vibrations, only official information provided is used. At the same time, in the SSC they refused to disclose, for example, the average selling prices of domestic cigarettes, referring to the legislation.
