Media�s Revenues from Advertising Reduced by Half
Baku / 02.07.18 / Turan: In 2017, the incomes of the mass media in Azerbaijan amounted to 4 million 684.8 thousand manat. This is 6.2 million manat less than in the previous year, Turan was told in the State Statistics Committee.
The incomes of television (-4.5 million manat), radio (-778,000 manat), Internet resources (-895,000 manat) and newspapers and magazines (-104,500 manat) decreased. For 2017, newspapers and magazines received advertising materials worth AZN 44.6 thousand. In 2015, for example, according to the SSC, print media got AZN 1 million 408.7 thousand from advertising.
During the year, companies engaged in the preparation of advertising information had an income of 13.2 million manat, 16.3% less than in 2016. From the placement of advertising the companies gained 14.6 million manat. This is 43% higher than in the previous year. This became possible due to outdoor advertising, the distributors of which had a turnover of 9 million 870 thousand manat (+5 million 640 thousand manat) in 2017.
In total in 2017, the revenues of companies from advertising services amounted to 44.4 million manat, which is 2.1% more than in the previous year. The balance profit on advertising services (AZN 6 million 750 thousand) grew by AZN 3.5 million during the year. -----08B
