Quality of the Internet in Azerbaijan Improved Slightly
Azerbaijan in the NetIndex traffic ranking of the company Ookla as of Monday, September 3, is the 107th in the world. This is the same position as the previous week. According to the index of quality of the Internet, the country ranks the 96th place (compared to Monday the position improved by two points).
Local providers have proved to have roughly equal opportunities, and the rate of the capital, where the largest number of users is, increased from 3.28 to 3.37 Mbit / s.
Average speed of incoming traffic in Azerbaijan was 3.54 (0.5) Mbit / s, the official portal of the structure (http://www.netindex.com/download/2, 110/Azerbaijan).
In Baku, the rate is 3.37 Mbit / s, in Masazir - 3.06, and in Sumgayit - 2.58 Mb / s. Among the areas on the map, you can find Jalilabad and Goychay - 2.42 and 2.24 Mbit / s, and Sheki - 2.44 Mb / s.
Chosen for the experiment were 284,140 unique IP-addresses. The study was based on the statistics of 20 local Internet service providers and telecom operators, mainly "fixated" on Baku. In the first place Eurosel LLC - 7,52 Mbit / s. On the following "prize" places were marked SOL and Az.StarNet LLC, which, respectively, showed 4.84 and 5.34 Mbit / s. Completing the top twenty were Aztelekom - 2.44 Mbit / s, MEQA-TELEKOM LTD - 2,14 Mbit / s and Baktelekom - 2,21 Mbit / s.
Among the mobile operators marked the incoming traffic of Azercell Telecom LLC - up to 3.47 Mbit / s.
The rating for the outgoing traffic (average - 1.45 Mb / s) also included statistics for 20 local Internet service providers and telecom operators. In their networks during the trial period the maximum speed of outgoing traffic was fixed at 3.77 Mbit / s (network Eurosel LLC), and the minimum rate - 0.47 Mb / s (Azerbaijan Data Network). - 17D-

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
