Baku State University (BSU) canceled a round table on the Holodomor
Baku / 13.11.18 / Turan: The leadership of Baku State University refused to provide premises for the November 15 Round Table on the Holodomor of Ukrainians in 1932-33. The Embassy of Ukraine and the Belarusian State University previously reached an agreement to hold a joint event, at which a speech by a scientist from Ukraine was planned. But three days before the event, BSU refused its promise.
For this reason, a round table on the death from starvation of millions of citizens of Soviet Ukraine will be held on November 15 in the embassy of this country.
The political analyst Elkhan Shainoglu, who reported this, recalls that the Holodomor in Ukraine, which led to the death of 4 to 7 million people, was Stalinist repression and recognized by the whole world.
"Stalin was responsible for the deaths of thousands of people in Soviet Azerbaijan. There is no connection between the crimes of Stalin and the leadership of modern Russia, why then is the BSU afraid of holding a round table in its hall? Does anyone in Russia oppose such an event? ", the political scientist is surprised.
"What will we say to the Ukrainians, if one day in the capital of this country they refuse to hold an event in memory of the victims of the Khojaly genocide? Someone in Azerbaijan thought about it?", E.Shainoglu complained
In the Ukrainian Embassy, the press secretary promised to answer Turan's questions after learning about what was happening from his leadership, as he had no information. Within two hours after the first call, Turan could not get an explanation from the Ukrainian Embassy.
Round tables on the Holodomor in Ukraine are annually held by the Embassy of this country in Azerbaijan. In 2015, the events were held in the premises of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Azerbaijan; in other years, the venue of the Round Tables was the Embassy of Ukraine.
In 2006, the Holodomor was recognized as the genocide of the Ukrainian people by the Law of Ukraine "On the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine". In 2010, the decision of the Kyiv Court of Appeal proved the genocidal nature of the Holodomor, the intentions of Stalin, Molotov, Kaganovich, Postyshev, Chubar, Khataevich, Kosior to destroy part of the Ukrainian nation. -0-
