Ilgar Mamedov Placed in Penitentiary Medical Unit
Serving a prison sentence in Jail N 2, the leader of the civil movement Republican Alternative (REAL) Ilgar Mamedov has been transferred to the medical unit of the prison.
As stated in REAL, on November 12 the lawyer Fuad Agayev visited Mamedov, who that day had a fever. "However, in the last three days, there was no information about the state of Ilgar Mamedov.
Today we received a message that he was placed in a medical center," the statement said.
REAL encourages the Ombudsman and the International Committee of the Red Cross to send representatives to Mamedov and inform the public and his relatives about his condition.
Attempts to get a comment in the Prison Service were to no avail.
