Ministry of Internal Affairs considers Iran"s note
Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan became interested in the activities of the World Azerbaijanis Congress (WAC). The reason for this was the note of the Iranian Embassy in Baku, said at the press conference the co-chairman of the WAC, MP Sabir Rustamkhanly.
According to him, the note was submitted 10 days ago, but the diplomatic services of both parties deny the fact of the note.
According to Rustamkhanly, the note was resent from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the President's Administration, and from there to the Ministry of Internal Affairs for action.
Then the staff of the Office of Security of the Interior Ministry appealed to the WAC with request to explain the check of computers in the organization.
Rustamkhanly expressed the fear that this will be followed by the restriction of the activity of the WAC, or their removal from the country. Rustamkhanly appealed to the public security department of the Interior Ministry, and asked to address all the questions to him.
Rustamkhanly does not agree with the Iranian side that the activities of the WAC does not match the bilateral contracts.
Rustamkhanly also noted that the WAC does not address issues of domestic policy in Azerbaijan, it is involved in the protection of the rights of Azerbaijanis in the world. Therefore, official Baku should not interfere the affairs of this social organization.
"If the Tehran regime does not want not to be criticized, it should respect the rights of Azerbaijani Turks", he said.
As for the protests in defense of Azerbaijani Turks in Iran, the WAC will hold them in front of the Iranian embassy in Baku, when it deems it necessary, concluded Rustamkhanly. -05C-
