Paris called for the release of Leyla Yunus
Official Paris is concerned about the arrest in Azerbaijan of the human rights activist Leyla Yunus, accused of treason, tax evasion and fraud.
"Yunus, with whom the French President Francois Hollande met in Baku during his visit in May this year, is a respected person in the area of human rights. For services in this area, she was awarded the Order of the Legion of Honor," said the release sent to Turan by the French Embassy, referring to the Foreign Ministry press service of this country.
France calls on the Azerbaijani government to release Yunus from custody due to her poor health. Paris also called for respect for the right of Yunus to protection and unhindered access to legal counsel. -16/06D--
