Stop the Attacks on Azadlig Site!
The Institute for Reporters Freedom and Safety (IRFS) issued a statement condemning the cyber attacks on the newspaper Azadlig website. IRFS believes that as the presidential election approaches, the pressure on freedom of expression is enhanced.
Authors of the statement authors point out hackers are using the following methods of attack: Layer 7, UDP, SYN flooding, and DNS reflection.
The newspaper Azadlig addressed the cyber attacks to the Ministry of National Security, but the ministry has not taken any definite action. IRFS calls on the authorities to investigate cases of cyber attacks on critical media sites and to take action against those responsible for these attacks.
The statement states the cyber attacks began Aug. 13 and continues to this day. -16D04-

During the meeting, they discussed preparations for the upcoming climate conference COP29. According to the embassy's statement, the minister offered the UK's support for hosting COP29. On October 9, President Ilham Aliyev met with Amina Mohammed, the UN Deputy Secretary-General, to discuss preparations for COP29. During the meeting, Mohammed stated that the main theme of the upcoming conference would be financial issues. She expressed hope that the international community would establish new financial goals. In turn, Aliyev highlighted the cooperation with the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and other organizations in the preparation process for the conference. He emphasized that Baku is making efforts to achieve consensus at COP29.
