The chief of the Center for Analysis of International Relations on the priorities of the organization
Baku / 02.08.19 / Turan: Objective informing the world community about Azerbaijan and Karabakh conflict will be one of the main activities of the Center for Analysis of International Relations, said at today's press conference Farid Shafiyev, the Chairman of the Board of the Center.
The Center was established in accordance with the decree of the President of Azerbaijan dated February 6, 2019 in status of legal entity under public law. The Center will analyze the situation in the region and the world, various aspects of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, to carry out fundamental studies of international relations and security issues.
One of the areas of work of the center will be to bring the position of Azerbaijan on various issues, including the Karabakh conflict to international political, public and academic circles.
The Center intends to work closely with international think tanks and has already signed memoranda with some of them. Scholarships are expected for foreign scientists to conduct in-depth research about Azerbaijan.
Shafiyev explained the acute shortage in the international scientific centers of objective research about Azerbaijan. Often the authors of books about Azerbaijan are Armenians or pro-armenian researchers. Attraction of foreign specialists is aimed at fill this gap and present to the international audience deep objective research.
The Center also intends to conduct seminars and trainings for local researchers. Shafiev explained this by the fact that often books by Azerbaijani authors on the Karabakh conflict refuse to accept international library centers because they are more emotional and do not meet scientific standards. Therefore, the Center is planning on training inform researchers of international standards for the compilation of scientific works.
The Center is also ready to cooperate with other local think tanks, academic institutes, departments of international relations of universities, as well as NGOs and independent experts competent in this field.
The staff of the Center consists of only 10 research scientists who are country specialists of the region and leading international centers of power. Therefore, the Center is interested in cooperation in various forms and other competent professionals.
There is also a special need for specialists who know the Armenian language, including for studying media publications in the language of the original source.
Shafiev called the Center an open platform for discussions with the expert community, willing to listen to alternative views and opinions. Center experts are ready to provide media with operational comments on international and regional issues, relevant to Azerbaijan. Shafiev acknowledged that sometimes in the media because of the absence of competent comments are disseminated by the views of knowledgeable "political scientists."
Information on the work of the Center will be periodically published on the structure"s website, which it is being created, as well as its current pages on social networks in the facebook and twitter. The Center will also publish a monthly bulletin.

Shafiyev shared the nearest plans of the Center. So, in September there will be a round table, dedicated to the international energy policy of Azerbaijan. An event with the participation of research centers of Turkic-speaking countries will be held in October.
The Center for Analysis of International Relations is located in the building where the abolished Center for Strategic Studies under the President was located. -06C--
