Zatulin's behavior is contrary to the position of official Moscow
Baku / 14.10.19 / Turan: The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reacted to the trip of the State Duma deputy Konstantin Zatulin to the occupied territories and his participation in the so-called "forum" in Khankendi.
"The illegal participation of Konstantin Zatulin, the deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots, who is distinguished by a frank pro-Armenian position, in the said "forum" is another provocation against Azerbaijan," said the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Leyla Abdullayeva.
She recalled that Zatulin, due to his repeated illegal visits to the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, is on the "black list" of the Foreign Ministry.
Zatulin"s participation in the said "forum" and his baseless attacks against Azerbaijan contradict Russia's official position on this issue.
"Relations between Azerbaijan and Russia at the level of strategic partnership are successfully developing on the basis of close contacts between the Presidents of both states. Thus, the participation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the recent meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club and his meeting there with the President of the Russian Federation on a bilateral basis are clear examples of this. Against the backdrop of such a successful development of cooperation between the two countries, the activities of people like Zatulin are aimed at harming Azerbaijani-Russian relations," Abdullayeva emphasized.
However, she added, the Azerbaijani-Russian relations will continue their progressive development, despite such provocative attempts. - 06D--

The United States and the European Union, which tried to position themselves as mediators in the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, have come up with nothing and merely copied Russia's ideas, distorting their essence in order to "hijack" the peace process for themselves. However, their true goal was to take control of the region, to insert themselves into it, and to push out Russia, as well as Iran and Türkiye, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated at a briefing on November 13.
