Mammadyarov on the priorities of the Turkic Council during the presidency of Azerbaijan
Baku /14.10.19 / Turan: Azerbaijan, during its chair of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking states, will pay special attention to the development of economic ties, said Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, today at a meeting of foreign ministers of the participating countries.
The preparation of the economic agenda of the Turkic Council will become one of the important activities of Baku. The revitalization of the historic Silk Road, infrastructure projects along this route will help intensify economic cooperation between members of the Turkic Council and observer countries, the minister said.
The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway is an important component of transport corridors between East and West, East and the Mediterranean.
Mammadyarov also expressed the view that the acquisition of observer status by Hungary in the Turkic Council would further strengthen the ties of Turkic-speaking countries with Europe.
Mammadyarov also welcomed the unequivocal support of the Council member countries in resolving the Karabakh conflict. In particular, the position of Baku that the conflict should be resolved within the framework of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
