Action plan on 20 January is approved
Decree of the Head of the Presidential Administration, Ramiz Mehdiyev, approved "Action Plan of the 25th anniversary of January 20 tragedy."
According to official sources, the document provides for the country's conferences and lectures, performances, films and documentaries, coverage of these events in the media. Similar activities are also provided in foreign countries.
Humanitarian assistance will be provided to the families of January 20 martyrs; religious ceremonies of remembrance of the victims of the tragedy and other events will be organized.
On the night of January 20, 1990, Soviet troops occupied Baku, killing 130 civilians. The purpose of the occupation was the desire of Moscow to prevent the coming of the Popular Front forces to power in Azerbaijan, and save the communist regime from collapse.-02D-

Last night, three earthquakes occurred along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border with magnitudes of 4.8, 3.0, and 3.8, according to the Republican Center for Seismological Service of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported no information about any destruction or casualties as a result of the earthquakes.
