Azerbaijani court members receive training to improve services

Court members from Azerbaijan and Moldova have received training on the analysis and reporting of results from court satisfaction surveys in Strasbourg on 26-27 October. Members of eleven national courts representing all levels of jurisdiction and representatives from ministries of justice, high judicial councils and educational institutions  received the training as part of a European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ) project.

According to a press release of the EU Neighbours East Info, the training sessions  focused on the content of questionnaires and methodology of satisfaction surveys for users, lawyers and court staff. The national pilot courts have already adjusted the questionnaires to their objectives and started the implementation of surveys, in cooperation with CEPEJ national experts. The training will assist with the next step of analysing the results of the surveys, drawing up conclusions on their basis and developing action plans to improve the quality of court services and the satisfaction of court users.

The CEPEJ provides support to pilot courts from Azerbaijan and Moldova in the implementation of a number of jointly acknowledged priorities to further improve judicial time management and quality of justice as a public service in Azerbaijan.

The Projects "Support to increased efficiency of courts, improved training of judges and judicial self-governance in Azerbaijan” and "Strengthening the efficiency of justice and support to lawyer’s profession in the Republic of Moldova" are part of the CoE/EU Eastern Partnership Programmatic Cooperation Framework 2015-2017, financed by the European Union and implemented by the Council of Europe. -02D-
