Center for Hygiene: Chicken shaurma is as dangerous as the beach "Shikhovo"
Center of Hygiene and Epidemiology of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Health does not recommend swimming at the beaches "Sahil" and "Shikhovo", where the number of coli bacillus is three times higher than normal, said at the press conference the head of the Centre, Ziyaddin Kazymov.
However, he noted that the country's drinking water meets health standards, as evidenced by the analysis in 82 water sources. However, the useful time of many water pipes has expired, and therefore drinking is sometimes polluted with groundwater sources.
Concern and illegal activities causes the catering facilities in parks and gardens. They do not have a source of drinking water and sewage system. Dishes are washed not by drinking water.
Despite the ban on the sale of water in the streets, the practice continues, and flour products are openly sold on the streets.
There is lack of sealed garbage cans and garbage are not taken in time, and there is continuing illegal slaughter on the streets. For this type of violations 62 people were fined.
Kazymov promised that in the future slaughter will be conducted outside of Baku in 3-4 in specially designated areas.
All animals to be slaughtered must first undergo a veterinary inspection. Law enforcement agencies need to stop the illegal slaughter of cattle, assured Kazymov.
He also called on citizens not to buy a chicken shaurma and sparkling water, sold outdoor.
"Chicken shaurma does not meet the standards. It is prepared from frozen chicken legs, and sometimes of unknown origin. Standards of shaurma are currently being prepared," said Kazymov.

In 2017, the Sumgayit City Court ruled to evict the Aliyev family—refugees from Gubadli (Akper, Sarvinaz, Ramil, and two other family members)—from an illegally occupied apartment in the 12th microdistrict, Building 7A, Apartment 35. The court ordered the property be returned to its rightful owner, Samaya Aliyeva. However, the Ministry of Justice intervened, citing a presidential decree from July 1, 2004, which approved a state program for improving the living and working conditions of refugees. Under this directive, refugees without alternative housing cannot be evicted until they are provided with a replacement residence by the Executive Authority.
