Disastrous torrent kills man in Shamakhi
Heavy rains in Shamakhi and Ismayilli in the Greater Caucasus mountains once again washed the road Muganli-Ismayilli at the junction of these two districts in northern Azerbaijan, 120 km from Baku.
According to information from the executive power of the Shamakhi district, the torrents interrupted communications with several villages, knocked down power poles, and damaged dozens of homes.
According to the Ministry of Emergency, the debris flows washed a villager from Kalva, Elvin Mammadov. His body has not been found yet.
According to weather forecasts, rain and hail in the western regions will continue. Precipitation does not let start the restoration of the Muganli highway. At the same time, experts expect new landslides in this area and especially on the Ismayilli Pass. -02B-
