Human rights activists: the call of Hafiz Hajiyev is obscurantism
The announcement of head of the "Modern Musavat" party, Hafiz Hajiyev, to award those who will cut ear of the writer, Akram Aylisli, is a criminal act, believe human rights defenders and lawyers, commenting on, scandalous call made by Hafiz Hajiyev.
The head of the Media Rights Institute (MRI), Rashid Hajili, said in criminal law such calls are qualified as incitement to serious crime. In response to this, the police are obliged to take serious actions.
"The statement of the leader of the party "Modern Musavat" is an incitement to serious crime and carries criminal penalties. It is hoped that the police will take appropriate steps against them," said Hajili.
The head of the National Committee of Helsinki Citizens' Assembly, Arzu Abdullayeva, also believes that such a call by Hafiz Hajiyev should be severely punished.
Taking into account the intentional nature of the call for violence against the writer, Hajiyev should be put on a life sentence. The matter is that in addition to the criminal nature, Hajiyev and his party are immoral and attempt to set the country in a medieval nightmare, she said. -05B06-
