Important Victory of FC Karabakh
Baku / 15.08.17 / Turan: FC Karabakh from Agdam, Azerbaijan beat FC Copenhagen from Denmark in the first match of the play-off of the qualifying round of the Champions League on Tuesday.
The only goal was scored in the 25th minute after a spectacular attack of FC Karabakh. Dino Ndlovu after the solo passage kicked the ball from a 20-meter distance. The ball hit the post and bounced into the field, where Mahir Madatov was the first to take it, and he did not miss his chance.
Whereas in the first half, FC Copenhagen tried to design attacks and aggravate the game with standard blows - corner and penalty, the second half of the game took place with the full advantage of FC Karabakh.
The hosts created a number of scoring chances and only thanks to the robust game of the goalkeeper Robin Olsen, the Danes did not allow FC Karabakh to increase the score.
FC Karabagh, though won with a minimum score, kept its gates "locked" and this increases the chances of the team for the first time in the history of Azerbaijani football to reach the group stage of the Champions League, following the results of two matches.
The return match will be held in Copenhagen on August 23.
On the way to the playoffs, FC Karabakh defeated the Georgian FC Samtredia 5: 0 and 1: 0 and FC Sheriff from Moldova - 0: 0 and 2: 1. -06D--
