Media Review November 14, 2019
The multi-vector development of the country's economy, discussion of the budget and proposals regarding pensions and children's money, and management of public utilities are the topics of today's media.
The newspaper Azerbaijan writes about the rapid development of the economy over the past 15 years, when the country's GDP grew 3 times.
To date, more than $ 270 billion has been invested in the country.
A state program for the socio-economic development of the regions has been developed, and problems with electricity, road construction, water, gas supply have been resolved.
Over 15 years, more than 3,200 schools and 640 hospitals have been built and repaired in the country.
The website Musavat.com writes about the proposal of deputies to give out children's money and increase pensions. Deputy Ali Masimli noted that pensioners make up only 13% of the population in Azerbaijan. He suggests expanding the number of those who can receive pensions.
To increase the benefits for each newborn, it is necessary to allocate 40 million manats and give not 200, but 500 manats per child.
The website Sfera.az discusses issues of public utilities management with experts. There is an opinion that if the utilities are transferred to foreign companies, then work in this direction will improve, since utility costs will fall from the shoulders of the state, and this is a considerable burden for the budget. Experts believe that this area is managed very inefficiently and causes discontent among the population, while utilities are unprofitable. Currently, subsidies from the state budget to these companies amount to 1.5 billion manats.

Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property. A minority, placing faith in the Housing Code, demand fair compensation from construction companies but often lose everything—both their homes and any form of recompense.
