More than 200 Judges Appointed
Baku / 26.12.18 / Turan: More than 200 judges were appointed by the last orders of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev dated December 21. Thus, the existing vacancies are almost completely filled, and the judiciary has been updated by lawyers of the new generation. This was announced by Justice Minister Fikret Mammadov at a meeting in Sumgayit the day before.
According to him, with the increase in the number of judges, their workload has significantly decreased, and conditions are being created for a better consideration of cases.
At the same time, as the Minister noted, in recent years, over 120 judges have been removed from the judicial system for gross violations of the law.
Thirty-four judges were brought to disciplinary responsibility, including eight judges whose powers were terminated early and eleven judges demoted, the press service of the Ministry of Justice reports.
During the meeting, the need to ensure the fairness of court decisions, increase the transparency of the work of the courts, and the inadmissibility of corruption was noted.
In total, there are 600 full-time judges in the courts of Azerbaijan. -06D--
