Musavat Starts Preparations for Congress
Baku / 09.06.18 / Turan: Such a decision was made at the Saturday Mejlis of the party. According to the party, the head of the party Arif Hajili presented the appropriate report.
Speaking about the socio-political situation, Hajili called it deplorable, because the authorities are hostile to the people.
At the meeting, an organizing committee of 32 people was set up to prepare the congress. The final decision in connection with the Congress will be made by the Organizing Committee.
The previous 8th Congress of Musavat was held in September 2014, at which Arif Hajili was elected Chairman of the party. Then a group of party members led by the economist Gubad Ibadoglu left the party, protesting the election results of the party Chairman.
The Musavat party was established in 1911, and its first Chairman was Mammad Emin Rasulzadeh. The second Chairman was Mirza Bala Mammadzadeh, the third Chairman was Kerim Oder, and the fourth Chairman was Muhammad Azer Aran.
During the Soviet era, the party operated in exile. Its legalization took place at the 8th Congress in Baku on November 8, 1992. Then 35-year-old Isa Gambar was elected Chairman of the party. He permanently held this post until 2014. -0--
