Numerous Fires in North of Azerbaijan
Baku / / 07.07.18 / Turan: Hot dry weather continues to provoke fires in the country. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan, fires began in the north of the country yesterday, including the forests of Guba, Shabran, Altyagach and Gonagkend. Thus, the first ignition was recorded near the settlements of Gasymgishlag and Chaikishlag.
Despite the complex mountainous terrain of this area, fires were localized and work is underway to completely eliminate the fires.
Another center of fire was neighboring Shabran district, where the fire also spread in the wooded area near the village of Arablar. In the course of the measures taken, the spread of the fire was stopped using two helicopters and other fire-fighting equipment of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Another source of fire was also recorded in the Guba district near the settlements of Gonagkend, Isnov and Kohne Gushchu.
Before that, strong fires occurred in the Altyagach district near the village of Gyrlar, as well as in the south of the country - in the Girkan National Park. Nothing has been reported about the injured or the damage caused. -16D-
