Ogtay Gulaliyev demands to issue him a foreign passport
Baku / 27.12.17 / Turan: Head of Public Alliance "Azerbaijan without Political Prisoners" Ogtay Gulaliyev appealed to the Ministry of Internal Affairs in connection with refusal for six to issue him civil passport.
Gulaliyev told Turan news agency, in 2012 a criminal case was fabricated against him. During this period, he was the coordinator of the civil society headquarters "Kura", which provides legal and advisory assistance to the population affected by the devastating floods on the Kura and Araz rivers. But a year ago, the case was closed, but the ban on his departure from the country is still in force.
Several times he applied for the issuance of a passport and even paid a state fee, but every time he refused to issue a passport at the ASAN service center, advising him to contact the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
In 2016, after such treatment, he was taken to the 37th department of the Khatai district police department and released two hours later, having issued a warning. In connection with the grave violation of his rights, Gulaliyev turned to the head of the Interior Ministry, Ramil Usubov.
The activist said that the last time he appealed to this department and if there is no results, he will apply to the court, even before appealing to the European Court of Human Rights. The human rights activist believes that he is specially kept in the country as a hostage. -06D-
