Orkhan Eyubzadeh sentenced to 2 years in prison
The Binagadi district court in Baku today sentenced a young activist, 19-year-old Orkhan Eyubzadeh to 2 years' imprisonment. He was found guilty of resisting police with violence.
The lawyer Asabali Mustafayev said the verdict is unreasonable as Eyubzadeh committed no crime. The lawyer will submit an appeal.
Eyubzadeh was arrested on May 6 during a protest against the verdict on the activists of NIDA. He was subjected to administrative detention for 20 days, but then he was accused of using violence against the police in jail. -16D06-
