Parviz Hashimli calls on the court to pardon him
At the trial in the case of journalist and human rights activist Parviz Hashimli and another defendant Tavakul Gurbanov the accused said their last word.
Hashimli pleaded not guilty and asked the court to approve him. Hashimli agan told about tortures against him during the investigation.
Tavakul Gurbanov said that he was accused because of Hashimli , " who served the leader of the Popular Front Party, Ali Kerimli." Further, the court retired to consider.
The verdict will be announced on May 15.
Hashimli and Gurbanov are accused of smuggling and illegal arms trade. Earlier, the prosecutor asked to sentence them to nine years in prison .—16B06--
