People Killed and Wounded during Intense Firefights on Western Border
In the past day the situation on the western border of Azerbaijan and Armenia deteriorated. At the junction of the Tovuz region of Azerbaijan and Armenia’s Tavush region there was intense exchange of fire with mortars and heavy machine guns, the press service of the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan said.
According to local sources, the shooting lasted for several hours, resulting in dead and wounded on both sides.
In particular, several residents of the Alibeyli village in Tovuz were wounded.
In turn, the Armenian side announced the death of a resident of the village Ayghepar and damage to the church and the gas pipeline in the village Moses.
On the Karabakh front the situation also remains tense. An Azerbaijani soldier Farid Agayev was killed, but the Defense Ministry did not specify exactly where it happened.
