Preparatory hearing in the case of Ikram Rahimov
Baku / 13.03.19 / Turan: A preparatory meeting on the case of Ikram Rahimov, the editor of the reallıq.info website, accused of extortion by threats, ended on Wednesday at the Baku Serious Crimes Court.
At a meeting on March 12, lawyer Elchin Sadigov petitioned for the termination of criminal proceedings, and in case of refusal, asked to change the measure of arrest to house arrest.
The judge offered to submit petitions in writing and postponed the meeting to March 13.
Today, the court considered the petitions and dismissed them. Hearings are essentially scheduled for March 27.
* Rahimov was detained on October 26, 2018, charged with extortion by threats and arrested by a court decision. Prior to his arrest, Rahimov said that he was being persecuted because of the criticism of the Assistant of the Azerbaijani president, Ali Hasanov. -B06--
