"Public Chamber" condemned the novel by A. Aylisli and attacks on him
The "Public Chamber" issued a statement about the campaign of harassment by the authorities against the writer Akram Aylisli for his novel "Stone Dreams."
The statement reads that the novel by Aylisli caused a negative reaction, and caused a campaign of pressure on the writer and his family. "Public Chamber" recognizes the right of Aylisli as a citizen to freedom of expression. However, the authors of the statement protest against the distortion in the novel the realities of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, and the humiliation of national, spiritual and religious values of the Azerbaijani people. "Such an approach does not facilitate the settlement of the Karabakh conflict, but contributes to deepening it."
The Public Chamber is concerned about the possible use of the novel by Aylisli against Azerbaijan. However, the authors of the statement condemned the pseudo-patriotic hysteria, launched by the authorities around the novel by Aylisli, and consider prosecution of the writer and his family inadmissible. -05D06-
