Russian blogger not allowed in Azerbaijan
Baku / 03.11.18 / Turan: A well-known blogger Ilya Varlamov was not allowed to Azerbaijan; he wastold that his presence in the country is undesirable. The blogger wrote in social networks that he was detained at the Baku airport at passport control, and in a few hours he was informed that he should be deported.
"I will immediately answer your questions: I have never visited Nagorno-Karabakh, I have not violated the legislation of Azerbaijan. Perhaps the reason is in my old posts about Baku. But the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry knows better what they are offended by," wrote Varlamov in his blog.
He also said that he agreed to buy a ticket at his own expense and flew to Istanbul.
It is worth noting that among the posts of Varlamov devoted to the Azerbaijani capital, there were the following: "Bad Baku", "How Azerbaijanis make fools of guests", "Dead Baku", "Baku: a dangerous and inconvenient city". The blogger also noted on his Twitter page that he was already banned from entering six countries. -02D-

Amid the bustling scenes of this year’s COP29 climate conference, a protest against whaling and deep-sea mining, organized by a group calling itself the FINS Initiative, drew significant attention from delegates and observers. However, questions have arisen about the legitimacy of the group, as an internet search yields little evidence of its existence beyond scattered mentions.
