Security measures tightened on Ashura�s eve
Baku/09.09.19/Turan: On September 10, Shiites celebrate Ashura - the peak of maharramlik mourning. In this regard, the Baku police will work in an intensified regime, the city police headquarters said. To ensure security, additional police units will patrol around all mosques and shrines of the capital. Ceremonies and street processions will not be allowed at venues for religious ceremonies, the report said. The Shiite Muslim mourning month of Muharram this year began on September 1. The peak of mourning is the 10th day of the month when Ashura is celebrated.
The fatwa of the Council of Kadis and the Scientific and Religious Council of the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMD) says about the inadmissibility of mass marches, self-flagellation, and the use of flags and of other states. At the same time, an action to donate blood will be held in Ashura.
