Taleh Bagirzadeh: Authors of Crisis in Nardaran - Ali Hasanov and MIA
The leader of the movement Muslim Unity Taleh Bagirzadeh delivered a diatribe at the beginning of August 3 during the trial of the bloody events in Nardaran in November 2015.
The authorities long tried to force us to unlawful acts, to cause conflict, but we did not respond. Behind all this is Ali Hasanov, Assistant to the President, Bagirzadeh said.
According to him, after the arrest Ali Hasanov sent people to him with the information that behind his arrest is Sheikh Allahshukur Pashazadeh.
At the same time on TV propaganda was waged against us with accusations of involvement in terrorism and religious radicalism.
"The bloodshed in Nardaran was not provoked by anything and the provocation was prepared in the presidential administration," said the theologian.
"We did a prayer when people armed with machine guns and wearing masks attacked us. One of our activists was beaten to death in the car. Thereafter, the investigation accused me of trying to create an Islamic state, possession of weapons, etc. All this is nonsense," he said.
With regard to the death of two police officers, they became victims of inaccurate shooting by policemen themselves. The blame for their deaths lies with the Interior Ministry, he said.
Regarding the materials of the investigation, he accused the prosecutor's office of fraud. "The so-called appeal by Taleh Bagirzadeh is a fake one. It was produced after our arrest, as they were trying to present it as evidence of radicalism.
Next, the theologian spoke about the incredible torture in the Office for Combating Organized Crime at the Ministry of Internal Affairs. "Already in the freight car the attackers in masks beat to death Haji Faraim and began to beat me on the face with rifle butts, smashing my face and breaking my nose. In the Organized Criminality Department (OCD) they continued to beat us and even the prosecutor was outraged when he saw in what state we were.
Initially, we were accused of working for Iran, and then demanded to recognize that we did some job for the National Council. The entire evidence was given under torture," said Bagirzadeh.
Another accused member of the Muslim Unity, Abbas Huseynov also rejected the charges of possession of weapons and preparing to seize power.
He confirmed the testimony by Taleh Bagirzadeh of torture in OCD against members of the Muslim Unity.
• Recall that in the course of the special operation in Nardaran on November 26, 2015 six people were killed in the crossfire, including two policemen. Total this case involved about 70 people, mostly members and supporters of the movement Muslim Unity.
