Executive Director of the State Media Support Fund Vugar Safarli and a singer Nushaba Aleskerli acted as the victims in today's hearing in the case of the Chief Editor of "Khural» newspaper, Avaz Zeynalov. The trial was held in the Serious Crimes Court.
In his testimony, Vugar Safarli said that he had no claims against the defendant. According to him, the conflict between them began in August 2009, when the Fund did not support the project submitted by Avaz Zeynalli.
"We met with him and talked quietly. I explained that this is not the last opportunity, and he will be able to present his project in the future," said Safarli.
According to him, after this incident the newspaper began to publish articles against Safarli and the Fund. "I am not a supporter of the arrest of journalists, and do not want to see Zeynalli in jail, and hoped that he would apologize for insult and slander about me, but this did not happen, » said Safarli.
According to him, the reason for filing a lawsuit against the Zeynalli became abusive language against Safarli, such as "Butcher of the press" and "dishonorable." The Narimanov district court ruled in favor of Safarli, obliging the defendant to publish an apology and pay a fine of 5,000 manat.
Avaz Zeynalli Safarli asked numerous questions, accompanying them by revelatory speech. In particular, Zeynalli said that it was Safarli, who is to take his place in jail, and he, along with Ali Hasanov, will be brought to court and people.
When Vugar Safarli was giving testimonies, there began a scandal between the singer Nushaba Aleskerli and the family of the defendant. The singer was outraged swearing, but she did not remain in debt.
Then the singer told the history of her conflict with the editor of "Khural." She said that someone called her from the newspaper "Khural", and told that they have revelatory photos of her. They offered to meet and discuss this issue.
During testimony, Avaz Zeynalli said he did not call the singer, and did not instruct the newspaper representatives to do it. Moreover, there were not specific insults to the singer in his articles. A lawsuit filed against Zeynalli by her was satisfied. She demanded an apology and a fine of 200 manat.
"I had not intended to punish the journalist's, for me it was important that he apologized, » said repeatedly singer.
Due to the fact that the third victim, Agabek Askerov did not appear again in court, it was decided to hold the next trial on 27 June at 14:00, and make Askerov appear. -04С-
