Zakir Garalov calls on Russian colleagues not to violate the rights of Orkhan Zeynalov
Baku/22.10.13/Turan : Prosecutor General Zakir Qaralov has appealed to the Attorney General and the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, for an objective and fair investigation into compliance with the requirements of criminal law procedure and the norms of international affairs of the criminal case filed against Azerbaijani, Orkhan Zeynalov, who murdered a citizen of the Russian Federation, Yegor Shcherbakov.
The appeal strongly condemned violations against Zeynalov, and the violation of his presumption of innocence during his arrest.
The Azerbaijani Embassy in Russia appealed to Russian law enforcement agencies to conduct the investigation in compliance with the requirements of international conventions.
Qaralov also noted that, in respect of Zeynalova, the norms of the convention of the CIS "On legal assistance and legal relations in civil, family and criminal cases" and the European Convention on Human Rights, were violated, which has caused resonance in Russian and Azerbaijani society.
Qaralov noted the need to ensure the rights and freedoms of Zeynalov, ensuring his lawyer and an interpreter prevented torture, inhuman and degrading treatment. –06d--
