General Rustam Muradov is appointed Commander of Russian peacekeepers in Karabakh
Baku/11.11.20/Turan: Lieutenant General Muradov has been appointed commander of the contingent of Russian peacekeepers in Karabakh, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
Today Muradov held a meeting in Yerevan with the Armenian Defense Minister, where he discussed issues related to the implementation of the peacekeeping operation, the Armenian Defense Ministry reported.
According to Russian sources, Rustam Usmanovich Muradov was born in 1973 in the village of Chinar, Derbent region of Dagestan.
He is a graduate of the Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation; a Member of the Chechen campaigns. He was awarded two Orders of Courage. In 2012, he was promoted to Major General ahead of schedule.
Since 2017, he has been a military adviser in Syria. For courage and heroism, he was awarded the title of Hero of Russia.
In 2018, he was appointed Deputy Commander of the Southern Military District, where he still serves. -02D-
